| Low cost auto insurance in California will expand to reduce the number of uninsured drivers on the roads. In 2000, there were an estimated 1,356,239 autos
– 23.5% of all those on roads in Los Angeles County alone
– that were without insurance. Beginning January 1, 2006 low income good drivers with state approval can obtain insurance for under $400 in Los Angeles County. The cap on auto value will be raised from $12,000 to $20,000 and individuals can get two low cost policies per person. On April 1, 2006 the new guidelines will become available in Orange, Riverside, San Bernadino, San Diego, Fresno, and Alameda Counties. |
